On November 14, 2012, we reported the appearance of Kathleen Robinson at Sheffield Crown Court.
Robinson was the former treasurer of Children’s charity Ellesmere Children’s Centre, and at an earlier trial, she was convicted of stealing £58,000 from the charity and was jailed for 20 months.
The article reported that at a subsequent compensation hearing, Robinson had been ordered to repay £51,000 to the charity, or face a further 21 months in jail.
Unfortunately, due to a production error, for approximately seven hours on November 14th, the article was accompanied by a photograph of Sharon Curtis rather than Robinson.
Ms. Curtis is the centre manager of Ellesmere Children’s Centre, and had nothing whatsoever to do with Robinson’s dishonesty.
We have already apologised privately to Ms. Curtis for the mistake, and we are happy to apologise publicly for any distress or embarrassment she may have suffered as a result of her photo being used to illustrate the article.
