Shania has fans eating out of her hand

Shania Twain has probably never heard of the late Tommy Cooper but their effect on a Sheffield audience bear a striking resemblance.

Old-timers will regale you with tales of how the comedian would stand behind the curtain at the Fiesta, with just his shoes slightly peeping out under the curtain. He didn't really have to do much after that; he had them eating out of his hand.

Fast forward to 2004 and the Hallam FM Arena. Twain's opening gambit is to appear behind a giant curtain and utter the line: "Are you ready, Sheffield?" The sell-out crowd were, the atmosphere utterly and overwhelmingly electric, the diehards in the front rows up on their feet already.

Feel Like a Woman was for starters and she didn't disappoint her adoring fans. The session, complete with her slick band, including the fidlers three, ended after two hours with fireworks and streamers, and everyone seemed to havev enjoyed it. She's back on March 8 at the Arena. Well worth the experience.
