Jailed former England footballer Adam Johnson is to become a cleaner at a South Yorkshire prison, according to reports.
The ex-Sunderland star, serving a six year sentence at Doncaster's Moorland Prison for child sex offences, is to get an £8 job as a cleaner at the jail, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claims that fellow inmates at Moorland threatened Johnson, 28, if he was given a “cushy gym job”.
He will now get about £8 cleaning, according to the report, and will spend his time floor sweeping and bin-changing in his segregated wing.
Johnson was jailed for six years in March for sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
