A MAN who climbed into the bed of a teenage girl a third his age after plying her with drink has been given a suspended prison sentence by Doncaster Crown Court.
Lee James Calvert, aged 42, pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault on the 14-year-old girl.
The court was told DNA evidence proved he had sexual contact with the girl after he had got into her bed.
He was visiting the house on the night of the offence, and had given the girl lager and spirits before entering her room after she went to bed feeling drunk, said Christine Egerton, prosecuting.
A woman also in the house at the time caught him in the act and threw a glass of water over him to make him stop. Police were told later that day.
DNA swabs from the girl’s clothesand skin matched that of the defendant, although he initially denied the offence.
Calvert, of Beech Road, Carcroft, who has been in custody since July awaiting trial, was given a two-month sentence, suspended for two years.
