Two Sheffield care workers tormented an elderly dementia patient ‘purely for their own pleasure and amusement’, a detective has said.
Lime Trees care home workers Carol Grant, of Calder Way, Firth Park, and Ann Cully, both aged 51, of Longley Close, Norwood, were each found guilty of locking a resident out of her room at the home in Pitsmoor.
They had refused to help her go to the toilet and shouted and swore at her.
Cully was cleared of a similar further count and Grant of two others.
DC Elinor Bottomley, who led the investigation, said: “I cannot comprehend how any human can inflict this type of abuse against another.”
They will be sentenced on March 21.
