GOLDEN ages fans of Sheffield United Football Club celebrated their group’s 30th anniversary in style - with a black tie dinner and reception at Bramall Lane.

World Cup referee Howard Webb from Rotherham and the Blades playing and management team - Danny Wilson, Frank Barlow and Chris Morgan - all joined the Senior Blades’ celebrations in the Platinum Suite.

And a commemorative plaque from Sheffield United owner Kevin McCabe was presented by chairman Chris Steer to Senior Blades chairman, Frank Yates.

The Senior Blades group was founded in 1981 as the brainchild of the late George McCabe and co-founder, the late Derek Dooley MBE. It now boasts around 600 members.

Monthly lunches are held with guest speakers. Anyone aged over 60 interested in joining can call Mike Webb on 0114 236 6754.
