MEMBERS of the Sheffield-based Sorby Natural History Society will meet in Barnsley this month for a morning walk with close-up views of red and fallow deer.

The Deer and Daffodils event is at 10am on Tuesday, April 16, at Wentworth Castle Gardens on Lowe Lane in Stainborough.

Pete Clegg will lead walkers on a route planned to take in the best views of the gentle deer, and a glimpse of the park’s different habitats.

For people who wish to visit the gardens in the afternoon there will be an extra charge of £3.

Pete said: “As well as the spring flowers there are plenty of unexplored wilder areas, where anything could turn up!”

Email publicity@sorby.org.uk for more information about the day.
