BIKES will be security-coded for free at an event aimed at driving down thefts in Killamarsh.
Members of Killamarsh Safer Neighbourhood Team will be engraving postcodes and house numbers on bikes at the youth centre between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday.
Consent forms can be obtained from Killamarsh Youth Club, local schools or Killamarsh police station.
PCSO Emma Hadley said: “Now that summer is upon us more people are using their bikes and we want people to keep them as secure as possible.
“This event will hopefully deter thieves and make it easier for us to identify and reunite the bike with its owner if it was stolen.”
Officers will also be giving out property-marking pens and number plate screws.
