MORE than 100 people were caught not wearing a seatbelt and fined during a recent road safety campaign.
Derbyshire Police carried out the initiative and gave more than 5,000 people advice about seatbelts and child safety restraints.
During the campaign, police stopped 117 drivers across the county who were not wearing seatbelts. Of these, 105 were given a fixed penalty notice and 12 were cautioned.
Staff from Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership visited 156 schools to speak to parents about laws surrounding seatbelts and child seat usage and drivers logged on to the police website to quiz officers.
