Scrap yard in fire drama

A CORDON had to be set up to keep people away from a fire in Doncaster over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Fire crews from Adwick and Askern stations spent two-and-a-half hours dealing with the incident at Queens Road, Askern, on Sunday afternoon.

The blaze affected allotments and a scrap yard. The danger from cylinders suspected of containing flammable substances caused South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue officers to set up the safety cordon 100 metres from the site.
