SCRAP collectors and trade vehicles were the target of a joint operation in Stainforth involving the police and the Vehicle Operator Services Agency.
A total of 36 vehicles were checked and several prohibition notices were served for defects. Two vehicles were prohibited from being used on the road for not being roadworthy.
The owner of a Transit van was given a prohibition notice until he could produce a valid MoT test certificate because he was suspected of using the vehicle for flytipping and poaching.
Doncaster Council’s Enforcement team reported two people for not having a carrier’s licence and one person was investigated for working while claiming benefits. Stainforth SNT say they will be running more operations.
