Schools' hot cash rewards

STRADBROKE Primary School has scooped £10,000 after its pupils were named Climate Change Champions.

The school on Richmond Road was awarded the prize after it cut its waste carbon emissions by a staggering 91 per cent over the last year.

Compost bins were introduced to the classrooms and a community paper recycling bin was stationed in the school grounds.

Redlands Primary School in Worksop was also a winner, and was awarded 5,000 for gathering the most environmental pledges from friends, family and the local community.
