Schools fight exploitation

A GUIDE to help teachers warn young people about the risks and dangers associated with sexual exploitation is being circulated to all Sheffield secondary schools.

The ‘Friend or Foe?’ education pack aims to raise awareness and promote positive healthy relationships among all young people.

An earlier version was rated so highly it was praised by the Home Office-funded Sex Education Forum.

Now it has been revised and updated to take in some of the latest developments in the field.

The pack contains exercises for teachers to help them steer teenage girls particularly away from risks associated with the internet and other new technologies.

It also contains new materials to help increase knowledge and confidence of staff in schools and staff from other agencies working with young people who are at risk of being sexually exploited.

A DVD is also available for use in schools.
