PUPILS in Sheffield are being warned they face arrest if they get involved in after-school clashes or fights.
Police issued the warning after officers were called to Spider Park in Wisewood, after a tip-off that rival groups of pupils from Wisewood School had arranged to fight after lessons.
Insp Darren Starkey, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This was as a result of an incident that happened during school hours, in the school, getting unnecessarily out of hand with pupils needlessly involving themselves. Officers went to Spider Park to check pupils were not getting involved in anything.
“Anyone thinking about or arranging fights should not bother - they will get arrested. We have some excellent links with schools and will continue to work with them.”
