Have your say

Many readers will no doubt be old enough to remember 1980 and the steel strike, a strike taken in trying to save jobs and the industry, which failed on both counts.

Exactly the same trauma is now being played out for family’s and communities at Redcar, Scunthorpe etc,. Rather a strange coincidence don’t you think that yet again it is ‘the nasty party’ that is involved? And yet again, as ever, the ‘nasty party’ do absolutely nothing to save this once “best in the world” industry.

The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, apparently looks after her country’s steel industry as opposed to our government ignoring ours, cocking-a-snook at EU rules just as she does with coal subsidies and anything else German and rightly so!

What’s the next industry for the Tory’s to destroy? Have we any left?

Mark my words it will definitely be something that only affects the working class’s and their communities, certainly not the Bankers who will still receive their obscene bonus’s.
