It was really good to read, (The Star, November 12), that Shaheryar Chishty, a schoolboy age 10, has been inspired by the Rustlings Road tree campaigners to write a poem about the loss of trees called, Deforestation, in which he laments the loss of trees for no good reason.
Supporters of the Save Our Roadside Trees campaign might like to know that each of the trees has a name and each has a poem attached to it written by a campaign supporter.
The first tree on the road, the one shown in the article, Delilah, seems to have been adopted by the local schoolchildren and has some of their drawings attached to it.
