TOUGH fundraisers broke through the pain barrier to raise thousands of pounds for troops injured in action.

Organiser Dean Morris wore a Union Jack bodysuit for the 18-mile run from The Castle Inn, Castleton, to the Manor Castle pub, Wybourn.

The 47-year-old was joined by six other runners including Sheffield boxer Ross Burkinshaw, and about 30 more people who walked the route.

Dean said: “I managed to do the run in two hours, 28 minutes, finishing second, which isn’t bad for my age when the other lads are in their 20s.”
