Hundreds of charity runners got in some early practice for Halloween - as they dodged an army of zombies around a unique obstacle course.

Almost 500 people took part in the unusual Zombie Run event in support of the Barnsley Hospital Charity that took place at Worsbrough Mill, raising £8,000 so far for the good cause last weekend. A horde of zombies, all wearing professional special effects make-up, tried to block the path of the runners as they made their way around the 5km course.

Katie Cartwright, Barnsley Hospital charity fundraising manager, said: “We’ve had great feedback and it was so good to see everybody enjoying the day and supporting such a fantastic cause.”
