A dog named after the boxer Rocky hopes to pack a punch with prospective owners as he looks for a new home.
Rocky, a brindle coloured crossbreed, arrived at the RSPCA’s animal centre in Attercliffe, Sheffield, in August.
Staff and volunteers who have been caring for five-year-old Rocky said he loves to play.
An RSPCA spokesman said: “Rocky loves to play. His favourite games are tuggy and football, although sometimes he gets a little carried away.
“Rocky is generally a well rounded boy, and there is nothing much he dislikes. He is sometimes a little wary of giving up his toys, but his happy to swap them for another one instead.”
He said Rocky would ‘fit well into most family homes’ and described him as ‘the perfect balance of fun loving and affectionate’.
Staff and volunteers who have been assessing him during his time at the RSPCA kennels said he is not affected by other dogs when he is out and that he walks well on a lead.
The spokesman added: “As we do not have much of Rocky’s history, we feel he would be better suited to a home with confident children over 10, if they are used to confident dogs.”
