EVERYBODY love chips - especially the micro variety.
The popularity of an RSPCA Sheffield pet microchipping day in November has led to an extra date being arranged to allow pet owners to have their cats and dogs microchipped at a reduced rate of only £5 per pet. The normal cost of microchipping a cat or dog is £12.
The event, on Tuesday December 13 from 12.30pm to 4pm, is being held by the RSPCA Centre at 2 Stadium Way, Attercliffe.
Microchipping your pet gives it the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they become lost or stolen. Microchipping identifies your pet permanently and harmlessly – unlike collars or tags which can cause injury if caught or be removed if the pet is stolen.
Centre manager Stella White said: “I’d encourage any owners who have not yet done so, to microchip their pets and help to speed up being united with them if they get lost. Without a microchip we have very little hope of reuniting the pet with its owner.”
