Royal approval for farm in Peak

A SMALL charity based in Hathersage, which introduces disadvantaged and disabled young people to life on a working Peak District hill farm, has won Royal backing - The Duke of York Community Initiative Award.

Pam Bardwell, chair of Lane End Farm Trust which is based at Abney, said: “Being awarded The Duke of York Community Initiative is a fantastic achievement and a real honour for us and the members who give their time so freely.

“We are very proud of the work we do and this award is a marvellous seal of approval.”

Lane End Farm provides a simple environment where disabled and disadvantaged young people can be at one with nature and connect with the beautiful surroundings and animals.
