Two Rotherham United footballers have pitched in with a charity’s Christmas efforts by helping to make festive cards.

Midfielder Ben Pringle and striker Jordan Bowery took part in a Christmas card making competition at Rotherham Hospice to help highlight the work the centre does for Hospice Care Week.

Ben and Jordan met patient Joan Kell, who helped them create a Christmas card each, before nurse Kelsi Sukumar chose Ben’s effort as the winner.

He said: “It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with some remarkable people and I was honoured to meet the nurses and residents of the Rotherham Hospice. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be like, it was a vibrant place with so much happening and I was buzzing when I beat Jordan, even if I did it upside down by accident.”
