Rotherham police chief Jason Harwin has given up some spare time help others as part of National Volunteer Week.
Chief Superintendent Jason Harwin, Rotherham’s District Commander, helped out at an activity session for youngsters at Kiveton Junior School run by Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.
Julie Adamson, Manager of Rotherham Volunteer Centre, which promotes volunteering in the town, said: “It is important that the people who make decisions about the lives of others in Rotherham understand what life is really like for people who live and work in Rotherham.”
Chf Supt Jason Harwin said: “I would certainly encourage people to get involved in volunteering. It really is rewarding.”
