A ROTHERHAM student will be taking in the sights in Shanghai as she heads off on an Easter adventure.

Hannah Dawson, who is studying history at University College in London, is off to the Far East on a Study China programme, where she will spend three weeks travelling around Shanghai, learning the language.

The stay is part of a cultural exchange with Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Hannah will be living in its dormitories and attending lessons in Chinese enterprise and Mandarin.

Now Hannah, who grew up in South Anston, Rotherham, is hoping to find £850 in sponsorship to finance her flight, insurance, and visa costs for what she describes as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’.

Hannah, who went to Wales High School and Thomas Rotherham College, said: “Just being in another country on the other side of the world is going to be awesome.

“It is going to be an incredible three weeks meeting all these new people - first students from all over the UK who are also participating and secondly those at Shanghai University.
