New bedding has been bought for The Sick Children’s Trust’s second ‘home from home’ in Sheffield – thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club of Drone Valley, Dronfield.
The club donated £1,063 to the charity, which is due to open its second ‘home from home’ in the autumn.
The trust is raising cash for a second house in Sheffield where parents can stay when their children are being treated in hospital.
Ann Wyatt, house manager at Treetop House, the charity’s ‘home from home’ at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, said: “What parents need when in these stressful situations is a respite, somewhere to lay their head and get a good sleep so they feel rested for the next day.
“We are delighted the club has donated this money, as our bedrooms are often what our families refer to as their sanctuary and I am sure the addition of this new bedding will help them rest and face whatever challenges the next day brings.”
