After a shaky start, little Ross the dog needs a new home to build his confidence back up.
The two-year-old brindle crossbreed is looking for an owner he can bestow his lovely loyalty upon - and RSPCA workers reckon it won’t take much for him to win your heart.
While he is friendly, the brown-eyed boy needs time and a bit of TLC to come out of his shell.
The charity recommends a home with older children and experienced owners as the right environment for Ross.
Tony Benham, animal care manager at the Sheffield RSPCA branch, said: “He has no known health issues and came into the centre in relatively good condition but the confidence of this lovely dog needs building.
“Ross is a special lad on the look-out for an understanding new home.
“When he first arrived at the centre he was very frightened and it took a long time before he trusted the staff.
“However, with patience and understanding, he started to blossom and he has now grown into a wonderful lad.”
Tony added: “He loves to learn new things, enjoys a game of tug, adores his treats and is very affectionate.
“He does like to avoid hectic or busy situations and when meeting new people he can still be rather frightened.
“Ross would certainly like to find his forever friend and home.”
