The recent article by Sheffield Council Leader Paul Scriven seems have involved a boundary change.
The 750 jobs Rolls Royce he includes in the 1700 jobs coming to Sheffield, are at the Advanced Manufacturing Park at Waverley which we all know (except Scriven) is in Rotherham.
As far as I am aware Sheffield Council in general and Scriven in particular had nothing to do with bringing investment to the AMP.
This has been done by Yorkshire Forward and RIDO, the investment arm of Rotherham Council. It would have sounded much better if Scriven had spoken of 1700 jobs for South Yorkshire but then that would have not had as much impact as we run up to the May elections.
