A series of roadshows are to be staged in Sheffield to highlight the next phase of work to be carried out as part of the city’s ‘Streets Ahead’ project.
Roads, pavements and streetlights are being upgraded across Sheffield as part of a 25 year maintenance contract.
Pinstone Street, Leopold Street and High Street in the city centre are set to be upgraded from this month, with work due to be complete by the end of August.
Roadshows will take place outside the City Hall in Barker’s Pool between noon and 2pm on Thursday and Friday.
Councillor Jayne Dunn, Sheffield City Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Recycling and Streetscene, said: “We are pleased to announce that the Streets Ahead works will soon be bringing the city centre’s roads, pavements and streetscene up to standard.
“We’re keen for as many people as possible to find out about the works we’re doing, not just in the city centre, but across Sheffield.
“Residents and businesses are invited to come along and see what we will be doing to make the centre of Sheffield better and when works will begin.”
