YOUNGSTERS are being urged to stay safe as work continues on Sheffield’s £2 billion Streets Ahead highways maintenance programme.
Amey, the contractor working with Sheffield Council on the project, wants to raise awareness of the dangers of playing near 300 separate roadworks sites among children across the city.
To help spread the word, a team from Amey is out with the Streets Ahead roadshow bus in the green car park at Crystal Peaks shopping centre, between noon and 4pm today.
Representatives will be reminding families about the importance of staying away from roadworks sites. They will also answer any queries about the programme, which will see improvements carried out across the city during the next five years.
