Roads set to be closed for utility works in South Yorkshire

ROADWORKS over the coming days will affect a series of routes across South Yorkshire.

Work planned includes vital maintainence on water, gas and electricity networks.

Today and tomorrow, Newton Chambers Road, Chapeltown, will be closed from Cart Road to Chambers Valley Road for water main works.

Penistone Road North will have a lane closure at the junction of Parkside Road, Hillsborough, for gas main replacement works from today until Friday, July 13, at off-peak hours.

On Monday, there will be stop-go boards on Charnock Dale Road, Charnock, for water works.

Water main works mean Whirlow Lane, Whirlow, will be shut on Tuesday, while Main Road, Wharncliffe Side, has temporary signals from Tuesday to Thursday.

Fraser Road, Millhouses, has temporary traffic signals from Archer Road to Holmhirst Road for electric works from Tuesday until Wednesday, July 4.

Normanton Hill, Normanton Spring, will be closed between Linley Lane and Hollybank Road for resurfacing from Tuesday to Friday at off-peak hours.

Paternoster Row, in the city centre, will be temporary closed on Tuesday evening from 7pm for maintenance work.

Townend Road, Gleadless, will have temporary signals for telecom works from Wednesday to Friday at off-peak times and Prince of Wales Road, Manor, is closed one way northbound from Sheffield Parkway junction from 9pm on Thursday until 5am on Friday.
