ANOTHER stage of repairs to Glossop Road in Sheffield after its collapse last autumn means the route will be shut for five hours this evening.
Glossop Road will be closed in both directions from College Street to Newbould Lane between 7pm and midnight.
The closure is necessary so retaining baskets, used to help support the new retaining wall while it ‘bedded in’, can be removed.
During the closure, a diversion route will be signed for motorists.
A Sheffield Council spokeswoman said: “The closure is being made outside of the rush hour so the council can minimise any disruption to motorists. Access to local businesses will be maintained throughout.
“It will be reopened immediately once the baskets are taken out.”
