A SERIES of road safety and re-surfacing schemes is to get underway across Sheffield over the next two weeks.
An eight-week project has started on London Road to provide a new traffic light-controlled pedestrian crossing at the junction with Asline Road and a zebra crossing at the Batt Street junction. There will be some Sunday road closures with diversions during the project.
This weekend, a three-week programme of works to re-surface Prince of Wales Road, Manor, will begin.
From 6pm on Saturday evening until 2pm on Sunday, the road will be closed between Halsall Avenue and Bowden Wood Crescent and diversions will be in place. Next weekend - February 26 and 27 - there will be lane closures from 6pm until midnight on Saturday and between 8am and 4pm on Sunday.
Meanwhile, work begins on Monday on Birley Spa Lane to ‘harden’ the roadside with truck paving that allows grass to grow through but stops cars churning up the verge.
