Police cordoned off a road on the University of Sheffield campus.

The area on Mapping Street and Porobello was blocked off by officers in the last hour.

A call was made to South Yorkshire Police to report 'suspicious activity' and the St George's Library was evacuated.

A police spokesman said: "We received the call and attended the campus off Mappin Street to reports of suspicious activity.

"We evacuated the building as a precaution but there was no concerns surrounding the reports. The call was made with good intentions."

The police cordon has now been lifted.
