Access will be given to emergency vehicles but a signed diversion route will be in place for other motorists via the A61 southbound off-slip, B6057 Sheffield Road and B6052 Station Road.

Councillor Dean Collins, Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Infrastructure, said: “We’re responsible for over 3,500 miles of roads in Derbyshire and we’re doing all we can to resurface those that have imperfections.

“We’re planning a number of night closures as part of a major summer programme of resurfacing roads across the county and we’ve tried our best to keep disruption to a minimum by carrying out the work on three consecutive nights between 7pm and 6am.

“Please still allow extra time for your journey as there may be some delays and we apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope motorists will bear with us while this work takes place.”
