ROAD closures will be in place in a Barnsley village for work to upgrade water pipes.
Traffic disruption is expected in Thurlstone from Monday as Yorkshire Water begins a three-week project to bring 2km of Victorian piping into the 21st century.
The £300,000 scheme will see 1,767m of ageing iron-cast water piping replaced with new modern plastic.
A further 663m of piping will be cleaned to remove any debris which has built up inside the pipes.
Rockside Road and Hornthwaite Hill Road will be closed to traffic while work is carried out.
Diversions will be put in place for motorists.
