Police have charged a woman in her 40s with common assault after a disturbance on the street in Parson Cross, Sheffield.

Parts of Margetson Crescent were taped off by police, and the road was closed to traffic for several hours.

Officers had been called originally to reports of a separate incident inside a property on the same road at just after 2pm on Monday.

It was while they were in the area making inquiries about the initial report that officers reported witnessing a woman assaulting another female in the street.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed a woman in her 40s had been arrested.

A woman has been charged with common assault.
