A MAN who groped a woman’s bottom in a Chesterfield nightclub is to be placed on the sex offenders’ register.
The victim, who cannot be identified, was standing in the foyer at Escapade club after midnight when she felt her left buttock being squeezed very hard.
“She turned around and Ryan Dunkley walked away grinning,” Rosemary Lake, prosecuting, told town magistrates.
The woman complained to door staff and Dunkley, aged 21, was ejected.
He argued with bouncers Joseph Cawley and Simon Knowes and began throwing punches, striking them both in the face.
Ms Lake told the court: “The complainant said: ‘I am in general not a touchy-feely person at the best of times.
“It made me feel angry that he thought he could touch me like that’.
“She said she was wearing a floaty, high-neck blue dress at the time,” said Mrs Lake.
She added that the doormen decided not to make statements to police about the assaults.
Dunkley, an unemployed bricklayer, of Station Road, North Wingfield, Chesterfield, admitted two charges of assault and one of sexual assault on April 23.
Sentence was adjourned until July 25 for probation service reports and he was told he would be placed on the sex offenders’ register.
Julia Bosworth, defending Dunkley, said he had a rare night out drinking with pals because a friend had just returned from a training course prior to military service in Afghanistan.
“Due to the alcohol consumed he behaved in the manner described by this young lady. He has no recollection of doing it but he accepts doing it. It was an act of foolishness.
“He then lashed out at the doormen and he was taken to the ground,” said Ms Bosworth.
