RESTAURANTS in Sheffield are backing a campaign to raise money for the city’s homeless people.

Nonna’s, The Milestone and Brew Kitchen have answered a call for restaurants to back the Streetsmart campaign.

In November and December, they will add an optional £1 to every bill which will be donated to homeless charities in Sheffield.

Matt Bigland, from the Milestone, Niki Baker, from Eat Sheffield, which represents Sheffield’s restaurant trade, and Gian Bohan, from Nonna’s, met at the Cathedral Archer Project to call on other restaurants to join in.

Simon Webster, of Thornbridge Brewery, said: “This is such a simple way to make a huge difference to local people. If you run a restaurant in Sheffield, please get involved.”
