Trees uprooted in strong gales have been replaced in a Sheffield community.

Coun Harry Harpham joined residents to plant the ornamental berry trees on land at Cairns Road, Beighton.

Christine Lupton, secretary of Beighton Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, said: “The area where we have planted the trees is overlooked by flats on Rosemary Road and is a focal point, particularly for those whose living rooms face the grassed area.”
