A resident was left cut and bruised after tackling two burglars in his garage.
Police are appealing for information to help track down the pair, who were discovered at an address on Challands Close, Hasland, Chesterfield, yesterday morning.
The resident had noticed a light on in the garage as he was leaving for work just after 5.30am.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “He found two men in the garage, one ran off but the victim ended up in a struggle with the second man as he tried to stop them.
“The victim was treated for bruising and a cut to his face by ambulance crews.
“One offender is described as white, of medium build, around 5ft 9in and wearing dark clothing with the hood up.
“The other man was also white, around the same height and build, and wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood pulled up. He may have suffered bruising or an injury during the struggle.”
