Red Cross seeks new volunteers

PEOPLE in Sheffield are being urged by the British Red Cross to become first aid trainers.

The first aid programme offers free courses targeted at those most likely to need to give first aid, for example, parents of young children, carers, homeless people, schools or those with learning disabilities.

Volunteers are needed to teach people how to respond to everyday first aid emergencies. Volunteers are asked to give up two hours a month, but no experience is necessary – they will receive all the appropriate training.

The Red Cross Sheffield office, on Brightside Lane, Carbrook, will hold a recruitment day next Wednesday, February 27. For details, call 0113 201 5252.
