Festivities were being held across South Yorkshire today as residents celebrate St George’s Day, the patron saint of England.

The Benjamin Huntsman, a JD Wetherspoon pub in Sheffield city centre, is serving a guest ale and other British food and drink classics, while St Wilfrid’s Centre for the homeless, in Lowfield, is holding a community day.
