A CONVOY of cars and coaches looks set to bathe the M1 in a sea of red and white as Sheffield United fans make their way to Wembley.
Blades fans will use planes, trains and automobiles to make their way to watch the team take on Huddersfield Town in the League One play-off final this Saturday.
With 34 coaches departing from Sheffield Arena at Attercliffe on the big day, along with 11 National Express vehicles setting off from the city centre, the motorway will be transformed into a football highway.
A specially-chartered train will also be leaving Sheffield Midland Station at 9am.
United have come to arrangement with the Motorpoint Arena that most of the Wembley-bound coaches will leave from the car park outside the venue.
Mick Rooker, Sheffield United’s transport co-ordinator, said: “Fans travelling by coach are reminded to check their tickets for details of the departure point. The arena management have let us use their parking facilities as a departure point so fans can park their vehicles.”
