HATFIELD Church will host a landmark musical event later this month.
Musician Vernon Hoyle is preparing to play the church’s pipe organ in what will be the first organ recital there since the instrument was restored a year ago. It was brought back to its former glory by Principal Pipe Organs of York.
The event will also be a boost to the church’s fundraising for a fund set up after lead was stolen from the roof last year.
The roof has since been repaired, but serious damage was caused when raiders took the metal from the historic listed building, leaving the church with a large repair bill.
Mr Hoyle’s recital will be taking place on Saturday April 28 at 7pm.
