Ravers dance night away for hospital
RAVERS danced the night away at a charity club event which raised thousands of pounds.
The Uprising bash at Plug in Sheffield city centre hosted the ninth annual fundraising event and netted 3,900.
The money will be split equally between the British Heart Foundation, Sheffield Children's Hospital and Action for Children.
The night featured acts including M-Zone, ELL and Jake Nichols who all played free.
Uprising co-promoter Andy Crane said he was pleased and added: "We had a great attendance and, given the country is in recession, we're more than happy with the amount raised."
"None of this would be possible without the support of our fans and staff and artists who all gave their services free of charge on the night."
Lauren Mallinson, fundraising volunteer manager for the BHF in Sheffield, said: "We would like to thank the Uprising organisers, everyone who donated their services free, and the participants for making this a great fundraising event."
The charity is also running a Hearts of Gold campaign in Sheffield which aims to recruit 500 volunteers for a variety of roles.
