Rapist jailed for vice girl attacks
A RAPIST has been jailed indefinitely and branded a danger to the public after he brutally attacked two prostitutes in Sheffield's red light district.
Ibrahim Star Mohammed raped a 28-year-old Barnsley woman and tried to rape a 25-year-old Rotherham woman within minutes on the same evening in January, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Judge Roger Keen QC jailed 28-year-old Mohammed under powers for the protection of the public and was ordered to serve a minimum of six years behind bars before being considered for parole.
He also recommended him for deportation when he is released and placed him on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
Ben Crosland, prosecuting, said: "The attacks followed an approach by the defendant for sex.
"He went with each woman to a secluded spot and forced himself on them in circumstances in which it is clear they were not consenting.
"Even prostitutes are entitled to say no in certain circumstances if they choose to do so."
Mohammed approached his 25-year-old victim on Upper Allen Street, Netherthorpe, and asked for business.
They agreed a price and walked to a secluded area but when the prostitute asked for payment in advance he refused and attacked her.
She said: "I started struggling and trying to run away. I managed to scratch his face. He threw me to the floor, I landed on my stomach and he sat on my back, pulled my hair and slammed my face into the floor.
"I screamed my boyfriend's name to scare him and he ran off."
The second attack happened just half an hour later.
The 28-year-old woman sobbed as she told the court it was only her third time on the streets.
She said: "He took me down this street and grabbed my hair and twisted it so I couldn't get away. He dragged me down to my knees, pushed me back and kept slapping me and slapping me.
"I was petrified, I have never been as scared in my life. I haven't worked as a prostitute since."
Mohammed, of no fixed address, was caught when the first victim flagged down a police car patrolling the red light district.
The court heard he told police the women and a man had stolen cash and his mobile phone and he had gone looking for them.
He denied rape and attempted rape but was found guilty by a jury.
