PEOPLE in South Yorkshire are being invited to a public debate to quiz candidates for the role of the county’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
The event, modelled on the TV show Question Time, is happening at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium on Thursday, November 8, at 6pm.
Candidates will be given a set time to answer questions from the audience, which will be made up of applicants selected by the South Yorkshire Police Authority.
The commissioner will take over the role of holding to account the police force and the Chief Constable.
The debate will be broadcast live on the police authority website. People can apply for tickets until September 30.
