Buxton Mountain Rescue Team volunteers and members of Derbyshire Cave Rescue received the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of their dedicated active service.

A joint presentation night was held at the Old Club House, Buxton, with the medals presented to more than 60 personnel by the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, William Tucker, on behalf of the Queen. Mr Tucker said: “We owe them all a deep gratitude. They work in the most difficult of conditions and are frequently called upon to handle situations the vast majority of us would not want to face.”
