A SHEFFIELD charity is backing a campaign to commemorate animals who have lost their lives as a result of human conflict and war.
Sheffield Animal Aid is supporting the Purple Poppy Appeal, which is running for the sixth year.
The charity will launch the city’s appeal this Saturday, September 22, in Fargate with a Remembrance Service during which a purple poppy wreath will be laid.
Purple poppies will also be available to buy locally with all proceeds going towards helping animals affected by war.
Visit animalaid.org.uk to find out more about the charity or laying a wreath of your own.
Anyone interested in selling purple poppies for the charity can also see the website for more details.
