Pupils to take the lead from police dog handlers
A ROTHERHAM school will get new starters tomorrow - of the four-legged variety.
Dog handlers from South Yorkshire Police are to visit Brinsworth Howarth Primary School to show pupils how they work with the animals.
They will talk about their work with the dogs and then give a demonstration on the school playing field.
Headteacher Maxine Crawford said: "When I took up this post one of the first things I wanted to achieve was a better relationship with the school and our local officers and Safer Neighbourhood Team. Visits give children an opportunity to see the police in a friendly light, and learn they're not just there to 'lock them up' if they have been naughty."
